With the DED process (Direct Energy Deposition or Laser Cladding), we can quickly and precisely repair your worn or defective tools and components or create new possibilities for optimizing your components. With many advantages for you:
With the DED process on the DMG MORI Lasertec 125 DED hybrid, we combine the best of the worlds of additive manufacturing and machining on one machine: milling and 3D-printing in one setting. We can easily restore worn or defective tools and components up to 1,250mm in diameter and 2 tons in weight to new condition.

The DED process is particularly attractive for the production of new parts, as components can be realized that would be impossible to manufacture in the conventional way and also with the SLM process (powder bed).
In the Direct Energy Deposition process the material is applied by freely programmable nozzle systems that melt the material locally by using laser radiation. This also allows combinations of different materials to be used in the same component, thus precisely achieving desired product properties.
